About Us

CMPA is an independent, not-for-profit, non-political and non-governmental organisation located in Abuja with offices in Maiduguri and Kaduna. It is incorporated under the COMPANIES AND ALLIED MATTERS ACT 2020 by the Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 25th day of January, 2022 with Registration No. 1885570.

CMPA works to strengthen social, economic and democratic governance particularly in northern Nigeria by providing high-quality research, media development, public policy analysis, social advocacy and public engagement services to our partners and clients in the public, private and non-profit sectors. These services provide CMPA with organisational income and compensation for staff.

CMPA as an organisation is led and managed by a 6-member Board of Trustees comprising dedicated and experienced experts in various fields. The Board is supported by a competent team of three (3) employees who oversee routine activities of the organisation.

CMPA has executed projects for Kaduna State Ministry of Education and has also carried out some other self-funded programmes, including a 2-day training webinar on ‘Accountability Reporting and Safety of Journalists in COVID 19 Era’ for over 60 journalists in the North East and North West regions of Nigeria.
