Press Release: CMPA Presents Nigeria’s First National Anti-Corruption Performance Public Reporting Template

The Centre for Media Policy and Accountability (CMPA) is proud to announce the final technical presentation of the National Anti-Corruption Performance Public Reporting Template (NAPPR Template), scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

This landmark event marks the culmination of the three-year Nigeria Anti-Corruption Performance Public Reporting (NAPPR) Project, supported by the MacArthur Foundation, and represents a major stride toward institutionalizing transparency and accountability across Nigeria’s anti-corruption architecture.

The NAPPR Template is the first standardized national framework designed to guide Anti-Corruption Agencies (ACAs) including the EFCC, ICPC, BPP and CCB in publicly reporting their performance. It aligns with the Nigerian Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) and responds to long-standing calls from Civil society, media, and international partners for harmonized, data-driven, and publicly accessible reporting mechanisms.

During the presentation, CMPA shall among other things unveil the NAPPR Template and its core metrics, Present the research findings from 2016–2021 on anti-corruption reporting by ACA’s, reflect on capacity-building workshops for ACAs, CSOs, and media as well Strategic recommendations for sustaining transparent annual public reporting.

CMPA will be inviting representatives from anti-corruption agencies, civil society organizations, the media, and donor partners to attend this milestone event. The presentation will showcase how collaborative efforts can strengthen Nigeria’s global anti-corruption standing evidenced by the country’s recent 5-place rise in the 2024 Transparency International Global Corruption Index.

This template is more than a reporting tool, it is a commitment to transparency, a catalyst for institutional learning, and a bridge between anti-corruption agencies and the public they serve,” said the CMPA Project Director.
